This poster format fits the exterior display cases at Ramada Plaza Calgary Downtown. The live and safe areas (margins that exclude any important information) are designed to work with the heavy frames on these display cases. This format can be modified for other display hardware systems and the margins can be adjusted accordingly.
This poster is a good example of an effective offer. It details specific offers; includes an expiration date for the offer; and provides a clear way to respond. This combination is a tried-and-true formula to improve the response rate to any direct marketing offer in any medium.
The image also avoids the challenge of showing specific rooms or facilities which may or may not be available.
Like the holiday party poster shown above, this poster also lists clearly defined specific offers available for a limited time only. Also notice that the image focuses on a single, specific lunch offering, rather than trying to show everything on the menu.
Presenting a single clear image will get a better response than trying to cram everything into one shot. In large display images, less truly is more.
This poster is a great example of the importance of preparing food for photography rather than serving. Toppings are carefully applied and arranged. The foreground shadows from the soft back-lighting create a sense of volume. And the image is retouched to remove blemishes and correct colour and contrast. The final result works on your subconscious and you just have to try it.
This 8′ wide banner was first used on rink board advertising. It was later adapted to a back-lit sign cabinet above the bleacher gate.
Any large display graphics like these need to be legible from a long distance, so it’s critical to keep the text large and brief. In this case the copy also promoted an offer that the captive audience cares about — a game package. Offers like this are a great way to capitalize on the marketing budgets of others such as the sports facility; the team; the league. This effectively stretches your ad dollars.
“Wedding Celebration! Your day, your way.” This pull-up display banner graphic shows a selection of wedding banquet photos — all professionally photographed. The importance of retaining professional photographers for these photos cannot be overstated. You need to show your facilities in the best possible light and have the images carefully composed. If you can draw a potential client into the image and let them imagine their event in your facility, then you’re halfway to turning that fantasy into a real booking.
